Limits of comparing rolling bearings by load rating alone:
Limited informative value: Many applications compare rolling bearings solely on the basis of load ratings. Although this seems obvious, it often falls short in practice.
Standardised simplification: Load ratings are calculated according to defined standards that usually only take basic geometric parameters into account. This makes them easy to compare, but they only reflect actual performance in real operation to a limited extent.
Influence of assumptions: Different design approaches and simplified assumptions (e.g. regarding raceway conformity or material quality) can lead to significant deviations in the calculated rating life.
Relevance of operating conditions: In addition to the pure load rating, the interaction of geometry, operating conditions and application-specific influences is decisive.
Our approach: Together with you, we look at the application holistically in order to go beyond mere catalogue selection. This allows potential to be exploited in a targeted manner – for a robust design, longer service life and optimised running behaviour of your bearing arrangement.
